Padma has always been known as the serious one, the twin who has her head planted quite firmly on her shoulders, and who cannot deal with any nonsense whatsoever. That isn’t to say that most of this isn’t true, for a great deal of it is, but it’s a whole lot of surface detail and no one can simply know a person on this surface detail alone. It’s true that Padma has always been the girl often associated with being quiet and serious, though that’s no reason for her not to pause now and then to let loose and really have a good time. Being Parvati’s twin has often meant that Padma knows quite a lot about having a good time, regardless of what others think. Being in Ravenclaw has always meant the elder of the Patil girls is studious and quite good with her book smarts. A day spent in the library is completely enjoyable for her nor does the idea of studying make her quiver with fear or faint upon the spot. Her works is always done with a neatness and perfectionist way that it’s hard to match (though she’s never been able to go above and beyond like Hermione Granger, truth be told). When asked to help anyone, Padma is usually willing, reaching out to try to help someone understand something makes her feel useful and, goodness, she loves feeling useful. Padma doesn’t like being put in the center of attention a lot of the times. It makes her nervous, uncomfortable, and downright grumpy when she’s placed in a spot she doesn’t like. Saying she isn’t willing to do something once should be sufficient; if asked again and again, she’s prone to snapping in response. Like everyone, she has her ups and downs and doesn’t like making a big deal out of it. Where you could be more prone to having secrets spread when telling someone else, Padma’s lips are always sealed when keeping something in confidence. She’s quite loyal, always true to what she believes in, and will rarely let something slip she knows shouldn’t. Padma has loyalties that lie beyond house boundaries in all sorts of friendships. She hates meeting someone and judging them on the spot. It’s simply not fair and, having had that happen to her numerous times, she simply refuses to let herself do the same. Her loyalties, however, are strongest to her sister, who is her closest friend and confidant. Mess with Parvati and you’ll have a pretty pissed off Padma to deal with moments later. Above all else, Padma's a kind soul who wants to do good in this world. Her brain and heart often battle it out to see which will win first, but more than likely it's her heart that gains the upper hand in things. She loves to smile and offers her own kind words and advice when she has it to people. Helping has always been her calling and it's what she strives to do best, no matter what. Family: Padma Patil is the elder of the Patil twins, born to Ratnam and Ranjini Patil. Their background is pureblood (and damn proud of it at that), though that title has never really meant a whole lot to the edler twin. Both her parents were supporters of the Death Eaters, though they never were active in the movement beyond giving quiet donations and voicing their opinions when they could. They did not always agree with the methods though, something that made them stand out among the rest of them and which was also a redeeming quality in this age of rebuilding. Ratnam has always been the bread-winner of the Patil household in a high-paying Ministry job while Rajini was content (and quite happy) to be a housewife and mother. There has always been a strong bond between the Patil sisters. They were very close when growing up, something that was very plain to see for anyone. Padma relied on Parvati to start the conversations when they were out and about, chiming in when her sister made the waters for such conversation safe. When she started school, Padma went through some severe separation anxiety since she and Parvati were placed in different houses. She grew out of her shell some without her sister around, yet it's very obvious that Padma would drop anything to spend time with her sister. Considering she and Parvati are the only children in the Patil family, they're direct heirs. For Padma this really doesn't change a lot, since she could care less about being rich. | |||||||||
